It can be bought on a spray can like any knocker loose product. It contains lanolin. I undercoat my pickup with it a few times a year with a spray can of it. It's a 2007, in Michigan, and still no rust except the tailgate is starting to pit a little from sliding salt blocks over it then the salt getting down inside. I took the tailgate off and sprayed some down inside of it. I could hear the rust falling off inside.
A week ago, my son and I had to unhook the manure spreader and the PTO shaft was frozen and wouldn't slide. We heated it and got it apart. I sprayed it with Fluid Film while it was hot and slid it back together. I unhooked it again Wednesday and it slid like new. If you have a hydraulic cylinder on something that's sitting outside, spray the ram with it and the chrome won't pit and rust.
