I am spray painting a couple of trailers using Rival 2.8 Topcoat. Use of a pressure pot at 10-20 ounces a minute is recommended.
I primed using Full-Poxy 491-10. I used a Harbor Freight HPLV, and after a little trial and error, got a satisfactory prime.
The Topcoat is a very different animal, unlike anything Ive ever used. When I put it through the HPLV it made a mess. Before I even started, it was dribbling out of the nozzle. I switched to a pressure pot. An Eclipse ES1:80 or it might be I:80. Ive never used one before. After much trial and error, I wasnt making a mess but I wasnt getting a satisfactory coat. I cant seem to get a broad spray pattern.
Can anyone turn me on to a source for this sprayer and its use? Are all pressure pots similar? Does anyone have experience with this paint product to advise on its application? It is obviously thinner than water as Ive sprayed water before to get familiar with patterns and get them close before drying out and using a paint.
