When you see the janky-azz work some of these custom stretch limo companies do, would you want those death traps in your country?
Here in the US pretty much anything goes. Once the car is off the lot you can do pretty much anything you want to it. Stretch it, lift it, lower it, put all kinds of engine mods on it... there is no oversight to ensure that the work done results in a car that won't kill people, and there are a LOT of shops that cut corners, OR it is done by an amateur in their garage with no clue what they're doing.
All it has to do is MAYBE pass a basic safety inspection, which entails, does it have tires, does it have brakes, does it have windshield wipers, do the lights work. Here in NY anything 1996 or newer gets plugged into their computer for a code scan too. Some states don't even have a safety inspection.
Just a few years back one of those janky limos killed 20 people in Schoharie NY.
