In the Peconic Bay, between the two forks there is Robins Island, Shelter Island (is it s own township) and Gardiner s Island.
East beyond Orient Point is Plum Island where the USDA Foot and Mouth Disease lab was until recently shut down. Fisher s Island is further East and is actually part of Southold Township. Great Gull and Little Gull Island out there nearby. Beyond that is Block Island which is part of Rhode Island.
