I ride a Surley bicycle today. I have looked pretty hard at the Yamaha E-bikes but, as mentioned previously they provide the ability to carry fuel and oil, grease guns, etc. to my show tractor. In terms of storage and transport, yep they are much easier but, with a show tractor on the trailer, that convenience is totally missed.
For the $3500 of an E-Bike, I'd look for a cheap dual-sport Japanese option if I went that route. I totally wore out a KLX-250S from 2007 to ~2014.
