None. I have come to realize they were designed with a particular point or quirk built in. I am sure some engineer(s) somewhere along the line also figured it would turn out to be a POS PITA but wasn't allowed to deviate from the parameters given to them. I suppose if it was a big enough PITA, there are a few new ones for sale just down the road.
