I had a car engine I was about ready to start putting back together, and I had even painted the block. Then in behind the timing chain just before an oil metering passage to the chain tensioner I found a piece of wax that would have plugged the feed to the tensioner. I decided then to take it to the machine shop to get it cleaned up good. The next day they called and told me that it was junk. It was very hard to see but one of the coolant passages to the head had rusted under the deck. It wouldn't have lasted long.
