Happy Birthday, Drew. My Grandfather had a 1938 B and then a 1951 B. My cousin has that tractor, restored. 15? That was 65 years ago for me but I still have memories. I have owned 2 JDs. A basket case Model 50 that I sold as a basket case and a used 314 lawn tractor that I never used. Buy and sell. I'm a Ford guy. I have the 1951 8N that my Father bought (used) when I was 10. This summer will be 70 years that I have been driving it. The engine was rebuilt 3 times, tractor painted twice, one new clutch and it's on the 3rd set of tires. One irritating problem with it. The seat width has shrunk. I have several other Ford N's. Some need serious attention. Don't be offended by my last statement, here It is for tractor rivalry/harassment. The only thing green and yellow in my yard is grass and dandelions. Enjoy your JD.

This same package applies to any hydraulic system from the largest bulldozer to the oldest and smallest tractor. This short series will take a look at the basic layout of a simple hydraul
