Milk prices started to climb just about the time I sold my cows, so my heifers were worth more than the cows. I bred them and sold all of them as springers and was averaging around $1800 for those. I sold an Angus cull cow in November that brought $1080. I bought her a year ago as an older bred cow for $925. I got a live calf but her bag was huge and I had to bottle feed the calf for two days before it got ahold of her. She raised it up alright. I didn't want to keep her around with that bag and luckily she didn't breed back. If she had, I'd have probably been fool enough to try her ''one more time'' and probably wouldn't have fared so well.
