Wagner has been credited in bringing the first articulated 4x4 tractor to North America. The company still exists but is mainly logging now. When JD released the 8010 it had transmission problems as so they needed a temporary replacement unit to stay competitive in the market. They contracted Wagner to build them tractors (WA14. WA17) but that deal didn't last long and due to a clause in the contract Wagner was forced out of business. Rite tractors, and Big Buds were born from the remains of Wagner. Early Big Buds were built on Wagner frames and both Rite & Big Bud rebuilt old Wagners.
