First of all, you will not want a tractor without a loader. Second, you will want to consider distance to parts & maintenance items availability. Third, live PTO, hydraulics & front wheel assist are a huge plus. Most old 10-50 hp tractors are gas. Most new(er) utility tractors in that hp range are diesel. I have several old tractors including a Ford 8N which is a very handy tractor but my John Deere 4700 has twice the horse power, live PTO, hydraulics, power steering, better seat, infinite ground speed with the hydro transmission, and the list goes on for the newer tractor.
