I was having solenoid issues with my GT275 The JD has a hydrostatic tranny. No mower deck or gears to worry about. I bought a PBNO off Amazon. Push button Normally open. Wired it to the +12v and the other side of the PBNO to the solenoid. Solved my problem. I think I was having problems with the switch connected to the brake pedal.
Run a jumper wire from the +12v to the small wire on your solenoid. If the solenoid works, you found your problem. Get a PBNO. If it doesn't work, buy a new solenoid. d
