When Ford-Ferguson came out with the world changing 3-PT Lift System, all implements would now be revamped to lift type implements instead of pull-type. Prior to the Lift Type Cultivator, operators had to watch behind them. With the new Lift Type, the cultivators now used a front axle attached row marker and the farmer watched the row marker as a guide. If he turned around to watch behind him he would skew off track the rows and destroy young crops. It was chore for some new farmers to adjust to the 3-PT Lift implements. The DEARBORN 2-Row Cultivators had to be moved out from the drag links in order to straddle two rows. The row marker or pointer was bolted to the front axle. The Cultivator also had a steering guide fin, that was like a coulter disc in the center to help steering straight. The unit also had flexible crop shields to help protect young sprouts.
