Give me one good reason a manufacture would put a date on a package other than they have a shelf life.
If they are not stuck together from heat they will be brittle. The saving grace might be if this attached garage is climate controlled.
No way I'm taking the chance with out of date shingles (a very important component to the house integrity) to save $1000. Just the labor involved is not worth the chance never alone the cost of the shingles.
While it has nothing to do with the integrity of the shingles I also question his story. So he is saying with home inspections and loan requirements he was able to sell a house with a bad roof and he did not even offer the shingles to the new owner to repair the roof. Yea Right.
