I finally got my 1973 Ford 3 cylinder tractor running with new parts for the distributor, but the timing sounds way off and even when I try all the way slowed and all the way advanced, when I rev the engine it spits and sputters. It idles fine, but once I give it some gas, it revs up nicely, and then after about twenty seconds, it start misfiring and popping, etc. I know I have the distributor aligned correctly, but no amount of adjustment seems to make a difference. Could this be a carb issue? I cleaned out the carb last week and it looked fine. However, when I pull the choke lever, you cant even tell, the engine sounds the same. I thought it might be the main jet adjustment at the top of the carb., but it doesnt seem to do much when I adjust it. If someone has some advice, I would appreciate it.
