The parts diagram say 2 are required. The letter R is often placed at the end of a JD part number I am sure some JD guru in here can tell you what it means. I would guess that the threaded adjustment rods 2706 and 2707 are labeled Left and Right due to something like length that situates them to a certain side not because of the type of threads they have. Pretty sure they both have right handed threads.
