We have a JD 6000 hiboy sprayer that has the 219 engine in it. The engine had been rebuilt prior to us purchasing the sprayer, so there is good compression on it. After many batteries, having excellent battery cables, and the original starter gone through several times, I had a bait of it not wanting to start without assistance from a set of jumper cables. Upon some suggestions on this forum, I ordered a new gear reduction starter from WAP. It made a new machine out of it and will start no matter how cold now.I think the key to it in my situation was that it does not kill the battery so quickly with a really high Amp draw on the battery trying to spin it over, hence the engine RPMs remain high enough for it to actually start. Just my 1 experience and YMMV.
