Dave, I have worked on many tractors, that is what I do for a living. The 2010 is the tractor that JD doesn't want to admit belongs to them. As a matter of fact, I just got finished rebuilding a 2010 gas, so maybe I can give you a helping hand. The 2010 diesel and gas engines were both lemons. The gas in your crankcase could have come from a number of things, but more than likely a carb with a bad float. The real problem you have if the oil in the radiator, and I can tell you exactly what that came from. The reason the 2010 engines were so bad was the way the sleeves were set in the engine. Although they are wet sleeves, they are also a solid unit. All four sleeves in a 2010 are welded on the top to a piece called a deck plate. First of all this design makes it very difficult to put the sleeves in correctly (all four must go in at the same time). But the biggest problem ( and this is the problem I can guarentee you have) is the gaskets under the head. Because this deck plate sits on top of the block, it means you need two head gaskets, one to go between the block and the deck plate, and another to go between the deck plate and the head. Due to this design, various forms of head gasket leaks evolved, the 2010 was very well known for problems like this. The one I just finishes with had water in the oil due to this design, and oil in the water is also from the same problem, the gaskets won't seal. I would suggest you maybe consider trying to sell this, or I promise you it will give you a lot of headaches. Unfortunately engines from other Deeres will not bolt in (without some serious modifications)I already looked at that idea. I hope I can be of some help to you.

Today's Featured Article - An Old-Time Tractor Demonstration - by Kim Pratt. Sam was born in rural Kansas in 1926. His dad was a hard-working farmer and the children worked hard everyday to help ends meet. In the rural area he grew up in, the highlight of the week was Saturday when many people took a break from their work to go to town. It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership, ... [Read Article]
