Thanks guys...was forced to start the job on Friday before I got your posts. Short answer is that I figured out your advise sort of trial and error....I DID take too many bites and I DID rush it....then had to really work to get it smoothed out. Still some work to do but I think i've figured out the trick is getting that box tilted just right to smooth and not pick up the mix.
