... is as long as it is or needs to be. Depends on what you're using the string for. A shoelace string should be about 18-24" but that would depend on how big your shoes are. On the other hand, if you wanted to snare a gopher 3 blocks away, you'd need a string just over three blocks in length. As for a tractor restoration, I guess it would take as long as most strings, as long as the string was of average length. But what length is an average length string?
