Bank Sealed bid auction rip off!

I was bidding on a Polaris ATV 500. The bank repoed it and was advertising it as a 1999 and not running "as is", 5:00 Monday was the last day. I called Tuesday morning to see what happened and they told me they misrepresented it, it should be a 2000 and it runs but the battery is dead. They opened all the sealed bids and are sending all the people that bid the new information, the bids are still current but you can change your bid if you wish. The auction will end one week later. My problem with this is why after the end of the auction they suddendly decide to open all of the sealed bids then decide someone would have a problem with their misrepresenting it. Sounds to me like they did not like what was bid. Why can they suddenly change the rules? I am in the process of complaining but it seems like all that work there are a buch part time women that are never in! No where did it say there was a reserve price or accept or reject all bids. I don't care if I win or lose but the priciple of it.
