I have been considering a rig to pull cars and tractors. New HD pickups are expensive and are still pickup trucks. So I am considering converting a 2 ton truck, probably a Chevy or GMC, into a "Macho Pickup". You get a real truck drivetrain, brakes, engine and gearing built for large loads and pulling. You have a choice of gas or diesel and standard or automatic trans. Trailers are available with gooseneck or fifth wheel hookups and can haul 12 to 15 ton loads with no problem. I am concerned that loading a couple of large tractors or my old Buicks on a trailer, pulled by a pickup, that I will have trouble stopping with all the idiots on the road. I figure my chances are better with a larger truck. One downside....insurance. If you can get a large truck insured as a farm vehicle it is not to bad, though. Just my two cents. Best regards....Greg
