a grass fire? wheatfield fire? that can be very economically devestating to say the least. Pointin' the exhaust vertical prevents those kind of accidents. Howsomever, if'n yer runnin' down the orchard row, knockin' fruit off with vertical stack can be bad news too. 'Course gettin a snoot full of fumes and exhaust ringin' yer ears ain't fun 'neather.
