My old boss told me many years ago that it is much worse to pay too little for something that you are not going to be happy with than to pay too much for something that you really would want or like to have. If you buy something strictly on price and are not happy, you will never be happy with it and will ultimately spend the money for what you really want. If you pay more for something you really want and like the item, all you have done is spent the extra money, but you are happy with your purchase. Makes sense to me, and I have found that it works. You soon forget the the extra money you spent, but if you are not happy with your purchase, that is a constant reminder that you should have spent the extra money.
