Bill, have owned and used most types made; started in 1970 with type you had using small amount of brake fluid and rheostat; was never completely satisfied with it. When I changed trucks, bought one of the early electronic units; worked alright with trailer I had at the time. When I got a tri-axle trailer, that unit wouldn't work to suit me. Bought pendulum type form NAPA; worked good, but could not keep it adjusted for different trailers and 'loaded and empty'. Finally got new electronic unit from my "Redline" dealer. Don't have a clue as to how it works; dealer says it's not time-delay, rather has a "brain" in it, suppose he means computer chip, but that doesn't explain how it works. It's marked "Quantum", but don't know if that's brand or model. Anyway, it works GREAT! Only one I've ever had that I was completely happy with.
