I purchased my Ford flail mower in 1971 for $700 because it was much cheaper than a riding mower and cut 5' instead of 3'. Have used it since for not only my roadsides and lawn but have also used ot to chop corn stalks. Have changed knives twice and there are many different styles avaiable to-day.
