MM Jetstar

Help with MM Jetstars Jetstar2 & Jetstar3 guessing about 1960 models. One has a lever on the right side goes into the transmission or bell housing. Moving forward fells like it snaps into engagement. Whatsit. Maybe a live pto? Just got them. Motors are seperated from tramsmission, Foemer owner said he could not get them to go back together after taking them apart. An odd thing about one of them, it has a forward facing pto under the differtial Help anybody? Thanks.
