My cousins in Schlaitdorf Germany have a Holder. It's an earlier model, a B 10 / 12 Eintackter; a single cylinder model that dates from about 1954. They say the factory is only 15 km away from them in a town called Metzingen, and they're having trouble getting parts for the restoration they're doing on their Holder. As I understand it Holder was always a fairly low volume producer, so parts may be a problem on the A12 also. The first articulated model dates from '54 - the A10 -- and the A12 was first built in 1957. Metzingen is close to Stuttgart, and everybody there was building Messerschmidt engines, tank parts, etc. during the war. So they were bombed a lot from '42 thru 44 -- my Dad flew two raids on Stuttgart out of the 25 missions he flew in total -- to give you some idea of their popularity as a target. In the late 40's they were busy rebuilding roofs over their heads, so Holder's only product was a two wheel Gravely like tractor called the Big Helper or Grosse Hilfe. The B10 was their first 4 wheeled tractor, and they were introduced in 1953. If you want to wade through the German, the Holder website is linked below. www.holder-gmbh.com Click on Geschichte (history) and you can see the pictures and dates on their old machines. I have no idea about value or demand for these tractors here in the States. If my cousins are having problems getting parts to restore their B 10 over there, I surely wouldn't want to tackle that kind of job here. Hope this gives you at least a starting point. Steve

An Old-Time Tractor Demonstration - by Kim Pratt. Sam was born in rural Kansas in 1926. His dad was a hard-working farmer and the children worked hard everyday to help ends meet. In the rural area he grew up in, the highlight of the week was Saturday when many people took a break from their work to go to town. It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
