O.k. seems real weird to me.I am looking at real estate locally. The only place I have seen outbuildings as a problem,is in subdivisions where someone or some group makes stupid, opressive rules on what you can have and do.A friend got in some trouble where he recently moved for painting a existing outbuilding a color that wasn't approved by his neighbors!TAN!In a 30 year old run-down subdivision!Bunch of busybodies like that makes me sick. The town even called him and told him they can't have a pile of stacked firewood in the front yard, and they would be charged for removal if they didnt move it in a few days.they had complaints.they're getting lots of use from their 2 fireplaces, now. Can't have a building for the wood, can't have anything.I guess smoke is outlawed too.Never catch me in a place like that.I'm sure old iron would not be allowed there either. What a nightmare!Guess what? I walk away faster when it doesn't have storage space.Barns are a plus.I will not even think of buying in places where barns aren't allowed.I also know I am not alone, places I like never last long, and they are priced high.I look alot in the local "thrifty nickel" paper, for sale by owner ads and the local newspaper.Know why I am looking? My country home was too close to town.subdivisions are closing in on me on all 4 sides. They don't like tractors or barns or livestock.the county has tried and failed to rezone here, and I guess they will pass it when the new houses outnumber those that live here. Please leave the choice to the new owners,They will really appreciate it.I know I would.sign me as - still looking in virginia :-)

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Hydraulics - The Basics - by Curtis Von Fange. Hydraulics was one of the greatest inventions for helping man compound the work he can do. It’s amazing how a little floor jack can lift tons and tons of weight with just the flick of a handle. What’s even more amazing is that all the principals of hydraulic theory can be wrapped up in such a small package. This same package applies to any hydraulic system from the largest bulldozer to the oldest and smallest tractor. This short series will take a look at the basic layout of a simple hydraul ...
