But the 850 will not fit in places the N will and treads much heavier. I personally think the later tractors are a bit more versatile.

On the other hand, it appears that almost anything can be obtained reasonably cheap for the 8N from various companies that service the N hobby. Not so with the later tractors. I have found New Holland to be spendy, almost everything has to be ordered and lots of things are no longer carried by New Holland. Both tractors are quite durable. The 850 can probably use most any impliment that was made for an N, but an N might be short on power for some tools designed for an 850. Fun, usable tractors that hold their value very well.
