Depending on the "synthetic" oil used, it should not be used during break-in. Not just that, why would you want to dump an expensive oil just to get rid of the break-in debris but if a high quoality "true" synthetic such as AMSOIL is to be used after break-in, you should run to approximately 3000 miles before switching. Mobil One can be used sooner as it is not as slippery as AMSOIL and still allows the rings to break-in. Mobil One is factory fill in the Vette's but not for reasons that originated where some people would like you to believe. AMSOIL produces a H.P. increase when used instead of Mobil One and has been proven by Corvette Magazine with Dyno tests from Vinci Racing in Daytona Bch. Fl.
