As a teen I spent some time operating a Deutz DX160 and fell in love with the aircooled motor. you could pull the guts out of her all day then stop and pull the dipstick and lay it on your arm.try that with any water cooled motor you like.like everyone says it just eliminates some of your problems and while I've never like everything the germans desigened you can never accuse them poor enginering or underbuilding anything.and it sounds like agco didn't mess the motor up yet
