I remember the Super 88 we had when growing up had a heater in the intake manifold that resembeled a spark plug I would guess the 880 is the same and if your motor is in decent shape no preheating is needed in warm weather just go ahead and start it BTW my experience in winter weather was that the coolant heater plugged in a couple of hours before starting always seemed to work better than the preheater.
