I have posted this opinion before, but here it is again. You will not be happy with a woodsplitter behind a tractor with an underslung exhaust system ,unless you rig up something to divert the exhaust. As far as using the tractoer haydraulics goes, it depends on the size and capacity of the tractor haydraulic system. If the tractor has a loader with a front mounted pump, and you tap into that system it will be fine. The standard tractor remote system will probably be a little slow. On the other hand you can always add a PTO pump and reservoir later.
