DO NOT take the return line from the first valve and use it as a feed line. If you do the following will result. The first assembly would operate normally, but damage would be caused when a spool in the second valve was shifted. This would cause load pressure to back up against the tank port of the first assembly and against the outlet of the relief. The relief would become useless for pump protection. The back pressure in the tank port of the first assembly could possibly burst the casting, blow the spool seals out and if the areas are different on the ends of the spools it could make them difficult to shift.
