at the bottom of your gear shiftthere is a square that goes into two square holes on your shifting rails your shifter has came out of gear and the rail didnt. take the oil filler cap off and shift your transmission you should be able to shift the reverse rail with a screwdriver or prybar when it lines up your shifter will work fine it may take a little tinkering the detent will make you apply pressure to pop it out of reverse
