I've been researching this for awhile since I eventually want to get a diesel for hauling my tractors. I've talked to quite a few people who have Dodges with Cummins and automatics and by and large, no problems. Some have over 200,000 on their trucks. However, an interesting comment from the guy who owns the largest transmission shop in the area: he says that it's too bad that you can't get a Ford with a Cummins. But if I hit the lottery and were to buy today, given the choices available, I'd go for the Dodge/Cummins automatic based on what I've see and been told by users of all makes. I also have my eye open for a good used Dodge Cummins but their aren't many around.???? Just my $.02. Have a good weekend.
