You shouldn't put water in a diesel. Some people put water vapor in the intake by way of a vapor system. That is you run the air through water before it goes into the engine by way of a vaccum cannister. The canister has a tube that makes the air go through water before it goes in to the intake and has a adjusting valve to regulate it the amount of vapor. This makes the gas vapors burn more cooler and completely as your engine seens to run better when its raining.
