Hi All, I was starting to get rust in my fuel strainer quite regular so I decided to clean the tank. Looking in the bottom I could see a small amout of rust but nothing to get shook up about. So I drained the tank, added 2gal vinegar (vinegar desolves rust) and let soak 4days. Drained the vinegar last night and good ole clay was left about 1/16" thick. I took several rags wire tied onto a piece of 1/4" rod and mopped up alot of clay but no where near clean. I then filled the tank with water to let it soak all the way to the top of the tank. I will have to build a 180* nozzel for my pressure washer to get rid of the clay build-up. Now I see why mfg's say to keep the tank full. This is a backhoe that doesn't get used often so just like eveyone else that owed this tractor, I only put 5gal of gas in when I needed it and the clay built-up over time, 42yrs. T_Bone
