A small box fan should draw about 1 amp @120 volt So about 11-12amp@12V to feed the inverter I would guess a group 27 size battery would go 2 hours. One problem is that most inverters are designed to be used on a running veichle with the alternator making 14-15 volt. They do not put out rated power from a battery alone @ 12V
Some inverters do not do well with running electric motors (especially split phase like a box fan). Try before yoy buy. Good luck
