You can power a tractor with nearly any engine you want - it's just a matter of spending the time and money to do it. First you need to decide what kind of tractor you want to modify. It's obviously going to be easier to install that engine in a tractor that originally had it's engine mounted lengthwise than one that was crosswise, like a JD two cylinder. After that, get out your tape measure, torch, welder, wrenches and whatever else you need and go at it. There are no hard and fast rules about installing an other than OEM engine in a tractor - it's usually a trial and error process.
