i sadly do agree with you. i am 33 an have farmed all my life with john deere until we quit farming a few yrs ago. i still the farm an my father an i restore antique tractors now as hobbys. we spend the summer goin to tractor show. but i agree that most of the people you see are alot older then we are. some of my best freinds are 30 plus yrs my senior. i think there are several reasons you dont see to many young people in the hobby. they are the money is probably the most. this hobby is not cheap by no means. second alot of them are to busy to enjoy life, just to slow down. then most of them didnt grow up around the antique tractors. the only way i did was they ran the oggers.
then also people dont take time for other people people either. one thing that my father an i do is try an have a side kick you might say. get a young person an get them involved with our tractors, show them how to run them an how to work on them. then we also take them with us to the tractors shows also, so they can enjoy them also. we have taken the neighbor boy with us to several john deere expos including the one in montana. at no cost to them or there parents.
it is just our little part to help with the hobby an, gettin a new person in volved an an gettin them excited about it, is well worth the cost
