Folks: Twenty years ago, I started going to steam thresher shows. The guys who ran them then were middle aged, now they are older, and their kids and grandkids are starting to run them. I like seeing young people on steam tractors and other tractors learning the way. Ever since a steam tractor blew up somewhere in the U.S.,there are warning signs posted at shows here now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a law made that you have to have a stationary engineer's ticket to run one of these, or one has to be on sight to watch over the operation of them. Most of my younger workmates think I'm a nutbar for liking old tractors(have MF35). I'm 45 and they are in their 20's. But I do see enough younger people getting involved that I'm hopeful that our hobby will still be going in 30 years.
