Last night I went to look at another old tractor and also in this fellows yard was a "high-crop" tractor which I have never heard of although high-crop tractors are rather unusual in our area. There was a very old decal on the side of the hood which appears to have been painted around many years ago when the tractor was repainted. It was CHISHOLM RYDER. I think the original color of the tractor was yellow or a creamy yellow. From what I can tell it appears the tractor is basically an IHC from the 60/70 era and may have been built into a high crop by Chisholm Ryder. The engine is a C-153 with the following number on the block 375597RI. There is also a serial number tag in the usual IHC place on the clutch housing. All the painted printing is gone and in one position it is stamped HC; below this is what I presume is the serial number 9217 S-Y-CR-703. Can anyone identify this tractor and perhaps give some further information about the company or the circumstances around its production.
