I had a guy bring a Massey TO 35 with the 4 cyl. Standard Diesel in for us to rebuild the Hyd. Anyone that has fool with these know how hard some of them are to make start. He had made a shaft that run along the side of the engine through two pillar block bearings with a plate & bearing bolt where the starter bolts the flywheel end of the shaft was machined to take a starter drive. The other end of the shaft out in front of the tractor had about a 6'' V belt pulley. In front of the grill he had mounted a 8 HP Briggs engine with a 2'' pulley. He had a lever with an idler pulley on it you pulled down to tighten the belt for cranking the engine. He had a plate below the idler pulley that when you raised the lever back up it would throw the belt off the shaft pulley. It worked neat as heck but I know he had more in that starting system that the tractor was worth back then
