How big of a plot do you want to plant? There is a great article on cool season food plots in a copy of 'Extension Wildlife Scientist' that I found doing a Yahoo search. You can put in your own plot with minimum equipment if you have the time. Hand crank broadcast seeder and a tiller will do wonders in a small plot in the woods. If you don't have a tiller then a shovel will do, there again it takes time, and a strong back.
