Very interesting! Worked for a few years for AmericanLaFrance (Fire Truck Mfg) in Elmira, NY and while there learned that they played a part in tank engines during WW11. Have forgotten much, but they made two of their own. V12,s. The E engine and the J engine. Kinda remember the E engine as having 4"bore/5"stroke like an M. The J was smaller, maybe of Lycoming design. Can you shed some light on these being used in tanks? Or maybe ALFCO installed Chryslers?
