Russ, It seems Ford has a pattern of having dropped the new big tractor, bugs and all, on the farmer. The 6000 was suppose to be the 60 HP Commander back in '61-'62. There were so many updates required, that in '63, Ford took the red& whites back, and replaced them with blue & whites. The 8000 arrived in similar form, always lacking, unproven. No bashing, I purchased a 6600 in '78, as it was & proved an excellent 70 Hp tractor. The "big ones" usually were late model trades on other colors, no bargains to keep running.
