Depends on what and where. I'm in central Kentucky. If I'm loading out of a field that's one thing, I took it that you meant to deliver hay to a customer. I charge $.25 every time I touch the bale (loading a truck, unloading, putting in loft)would each be a "handle". Plus shipping, $2.00 per loaded mile ($50.00) minimum. Minimum load is 80 bales; maximum is 380; or I'll do a semi on the same deal. Example: My cash and carry price at the barn is $2.75 for Timothy (at least 20 bales). If you wanted 200 bales delivered to your barn 30 miles away it would cost $3.25 plus mileage ($60.00) ground ricked or $3.50 plus mileage in a loft. Most years I'll sell 10,000 squares and 500 rolls (rolls I include loading in the price, mileage is the same). This year I got "lazy" and cut back some; then the drought cut me back some, too.
