Just my 2 pennies worth.
most llite failure is caused by power surge, mainly from bad connections. vibration can shake the bulb loose from the contacts,also moisture corrodes the contacts. this make-break is the biggest culprit. the newer style sealed 2 inch round or 3/4 x 3 inch oblong work the best. be sure to put grease on connecter to seal out moisture. not very technical, just based on personal experience, 120000 miles a year times 40 years on the road
